I think the problem with the dip switches on these units is not the switches but the poor Chinese to English translation as to how to program set up. The 5 ch dmx implementation is kinda rare, and my dmx software did not have a profile for them that being said, they work great. I honestly just bought them to install in my college apartment's living room to jam out to the radio with. Value quality I bought the silver version when they were available. May buy even more.

I see that some have complained about the dip switches. Our first day of use was a quick set up with dmx control and just the basics of the lights gave us more than what we could have imagined. I set 4 up as solid colors and 4 with music at different sensitivities and what was previously a challenge to get people dancing was now a cake walk keeping the 24'x24' floor packed all night with the atmosphere they provided. So far, the only negative i've noticed is that the dip switches for setting mode sometimes don't seem to make connection in the desired setting until you slide them back and forth a couple of times, so that cost it a star on quality.

More durable than I had imagined they would be. I own 24 and they work like a charm. This is a great power sipping and versatile fixture.

First item 5. I have many different lengths of dmx cables, form 3'ft to 100'ft. For me, I prefer dip switches over the digital read out.

Much less chance of failure. And two cords female and male to allow daisy chaining of power.

I use them in 3 channel mode with a lc2412, but I tested their standalone and master slave configurations with the sync to sound and found those modes also work 100 as advertised. When it's dark out, one will provide enough light to move around in a room with ease.
